Christ Our Hope : Building a Vibrant Church campaign
“And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people.” ■ Matthew 4:23
St. Monica is participating in the first ever diocesan-wide Christ Our Hope: Building a Vibrant Church campaign. This campaign isrooted in the works of Christ (Matthew 4:23) and the outcomes of the synod to build vibrant parishes (Preaching), strengthen our evangelization (Teaching) and communicate the compassion of Christ in our service to the most vulnerable (Healing).
This campaign offers a wonderful opportunity for St. Monica. Not only financially – 60% of the funds we raise comes back to us for our use to address specific parish needs – but as a larger Catholic community, together we will
renew, strengthen and secure a future for the Catholic Church in Vermont.
Building a Vibrant Church campaign is now underway with information packets mailed to parishioners. This fundraising effort is our call to follow the earthly ministries of Christ healing, preaching and teaching. For details on how we will achieve this goal, please review the case statement you recently received in the mail.
Remember a successful campaign provides great benefits to St. Monica Parish. Most of the funds - 60% will return to our parish:
- allowing us to finish paying for the new heating stystem at the school,
- taking down the abandoned rectory on West street,
- supporting family activities.
The Diocese will direct the remaining dollars into two endowments, including one to support Catholic education. Our school system educates roughly 2,000 students yearly. Some families need tuition assistance. Funding an endowment to support education allows us to continue to offer financial support to those who need it.
God asks us as stewards to give with generosity and sacrifice in mind. Please review the “Budget Your Gift” page on page 11 of the case statement with your family to determine if and how you might be able to contribute over the next three years through small sacrifices. Your sacrificial gift will be used for the glory of God, who has given us everything we need.
Volunteers have begun to make outreach calls to discuss the campaign and answer questions. Once you identify your gift, please complete and return your pledge form. You may also give on line by visiting this website: christourhopevt.org.
“We, our faith family, will define campaign success. Let us join as one, as brothers and sisters in Christ, to reach our goal.” Father Pat
